Currey Ingram Academy’s commitment to promoting strengths and supporting differences in students does not stop at the end of the school day. Residential life at Currey Ingram is open to students in grades 9-12, with 8th grade consideration, and provides another transformative level of individualized learning and attention. Just as every student is at the center of their educational journey, our boarding students experience specialized support as they nurture responsibility and develop necessary life, social and self-advocacy skills.

  • Tuition

    Boarding Tuition (includes meals): $79,170
    (Note: There is an additional mandatory $3,000 per year activity fee for each boarding student.)
    • Approximately 42 percent of Currey Ingram Academy students receive need-based financial aid.
    • Financial aid awards range from 2.4 percent to 50 percent of tuition, with some additional funding available for specific situations.

Since 2002, the school has been located on an 83-acre campus in Brentwood, Tennessee, just miles from Nashville and Franklin. Families from 33 states and eight countries cite the school as their primary reason for moving to Middle Tennessee.
  • Who We Serve

    At Currey Ingram Academy, we understand that students learn differently so we must teach differently. Our teachers use evidence-based instructional approaches and present material through an individualized, structured and multisensory approach (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic) to best meet the instructional and learning needs of our students. Currey Ingram Academy accepts students compatible with the mission of the school; however, within the residential program, students will be accepted using additional criteria that aligns with a 24/7 environment. 
     
    Our Upper School program serves students in 9th through 12th grades with average to superior intelligence with learning differences, particularly in reading (dyslexia), writing (dysgraphia), math (dyscalculia), memory (long-term and working), processing speed, ADHD, executive functioning challenges or other learning differences that prevent academically capable students from achieving success in a traditional educational setting.

  • Students Our Mission Doesn't Serve

    Although we serve a wide range of students with learning differences, there are student profiles that fall outside of our mission and scope of service. These include students who are diagnosed by a professional with:
    • An intellectual disability.
    • Moderate-to-severe Autism Spectrum Disorders
      • ASD that results in significant social communication impairments and behavioral impairments.
    • Moderate-to-severe emotional problems
    • A history of school-related behavioral or conduct challenges, including:
      • Oppositional Defiant Disorder
      • Conduct Disorder
      • Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder
    **Although a student may not have a diagnosed learning difference, on occasion, a student is accepted because there is a need for a smaller, more personalized learning environment. These students typically flourish in our environment, as well.
