School traditions are an important part of the Currey Ingram JK-12 culture. Our traditions provide a sense of belonging, help build community and school spirit, create milestones, and give our students something to look forward to throughout the school year. Our traditions include spirit weeks, pep rallies, field days and more. Below are some traditions that are unique to Currey Ingram Academy.
Henderson Houses
The HendersonHouse program was created in 2018 and is named in honor of Carol and Bobby Henderson, the founders of Westminster School of Nashville, the predecessor school to Currey Ingram Academy.
The purpose of the Henderson House program is to unify our JK-12 community and to instill school pride and spirit. Each student, teacher, and staff member is assigned to one of four houses - Cedar (orange), Elm (yellow), Maple (blue) or Oak (red).
Students across all grade levels participate in a variety of academic, arts, athletic and community-building activities to earn points for their house. At the conclusion of the school year, the house with the most total points receives the coveted Henderson House Cup, which is displayed in Jennifer and Billy Frist Hall.
BANDFEST
Celebrated in the fall and in the spring on the quad, Bandfest showcases themusical talents of our Middle School and Upper School students performing in our school rock bands. The entire school as well as parents gather on the quad for an afternoon of music. The rock bands are co-curricular programs in the Middle School and Upper School. Students meet after school with our music teachers. They perform covers as well as original songs. In addition to performing for Bandfest, the rock bands will also perform at local music venues throughout the year.

Each fall, Currey Ingram Academy hosts a Community Night for families from all Divisions. The night includes food trucks, home athletic events, and games and activities for all ages on Jeffrey Kuhn Field.
